Big Brother

Elisha is a little under the weather and took a very long nap. This left Micah and Hosanna to play alone. Hosanna sure is loved by her big brother!

Bonus: Nana stopped by and gave them new sunglasses. Hosanna made no effort to take them off.

6 month Milestones

March 6th - first tooth
March 11th - Hosanna turns 6 months old.
March 12th-13th - figures out how to crawl
March 15th - second tooth
March 22nd - pulls to standing in her crib
March 24th - pulls to standing on a box in the family room, transfers to a different container and then lets go, standing on her own for about 2 seconds
Slow down, little baby Hosanna. You don't have to figure it all out this month!

Spring Day

Bath Chair

Rice Cereal

We always try to make it to 6 months on just breast milk, but have yet to be successful. So, rice cereal at 5 1/2 months it is. Hosanna doesn't seem to mind, in fact, I think she likes it!

5 Month Firsts

Within a week of turning 5 months old, Hosanna decided to be a big girl. She is sitting up unassisted, wiggling her way to new destinations on the floor (like Elisha's potty), and sitting in the high chair, the stroller and the baby swings at the park. Take a look!

Micah and Elisha were wanting to paint. So they sat at the table. I put Hosanna in the high chair and she started squealing. She knew she was going to be right in the middle of the action and was so pleased!

Being in the stroller right by the swings at the park was not good enough. Hosanna started fussing. I asked her if she wanted to swing, too, and she smiled knowingly. (I thought I was crazy, too, believe me!) When I put her in the swing, she was happy, happy, happy. Five months is way too early to want to do what everyone else is doing - way too early!

Party Girl

Saturday, March 6th was quite the party day. Hosanna got all dressed up! The Mooney girls went to a Teddy Bear Tea with Nana. Later that day, our family went to Beth's 16th surprise birthday party. Hosanna enjoyed the live band, all the people and the center pieces made out of red, sparkly shredded stuff. What a fun, action-packed day for a four month old!

Bronchiolitis

Hosanna is pretty sick with bronchiolitis (baby bronchitis) and an ear infection. She's adjusted well to the nebulizer machine. At first she screamed and wiggled, but now she contentedly drifts off to sleep. Today I am thankful for modern medicine.

4 months old

It was a sunny February day. Now that Hosanna can roll over both front to back and back to front and her belly is doing much better, it was a perfect photo op. She stopped taking her reflux medicine a week ago and is doing fine - praise the Lord!

Sometimes when there's work to be done at the desk, Hosanna helps Mommy by sitting close by - um . . . on the desk right in the middle of everything so as not to miss anything.

Hosanna can hold her own chew toys now, which is very helpful.

Micah likes to share his Piglet and Lizzie with Hosanna and puts one on each side of her head, just like he likes to cuddle them. Now to convince him not to do so when she has already fallen fast asleep. . .

Hosanna is starting to show a preference for her Piglet, especially his ears, just like Micah and Elisha. There's just something about that Piglet's ears.

Wake up, Sleeping Beauty

3 months

Hosanna turned 3 months old on January 11, 2010. She is growing up so fast. She's sleeping well at night, at least 6 hours in a row, sometimes 7 or 8.

Hosanna took her first plane trip to Montana on January 14th to visit Mommy's friend Laura Beth for the weekend (thanks to flight miles and birthday money). We flew from Atlanta to Salt Lake City to Great Falls. We had a very uneventful, relaxing weekend with mild weather. Hosanna seemed to get bored and miss her siblings, so Laura Beth's kids helped entertain her from time to time. She traveled very well and Mommy had fun getting lots of alone time with just her baby girl.

12 Weeks

Sibling bath time is always fun, especially once Elisha was convinced not to pour water on her baby sister.

Doesn't Hosanna look like a tiny princess in our bed? She fell asleep with me and stayed asleep long after I got up. Precious.

It snowed in Georgia on January 8th. We all went outside to celebrate. Hosanna decided she didn't like it very much about 30 seconds after she sat down in her Bumbo chair. That means it took me at least 4 times longer to get her ready for the snow than she was actually in the snow.

Merry Christmas

Hosanna enjoyed watching her siblings open gifts on Christmas morning.

She snuggled right up with the blanket Auntie Kim made. We spent Christmas day with my side of the family and the day after Christmas with Britt's.

Since Hosanna tends to sleep when lots of people are around, she did a lot of snoozing during the holiday family times. She enjoyed it as much as any 2 month old can, I guess. She sure was cute, though.

Great Granny & Grandpa Schneider

Oma, Mommy and Hosanna took a whirlwind trip to Pensacola, FL to visit Aunt Di and she joined us in Mobile, AL to visit with Opa's parents, Great Granny & Great Grandpa Schneider. Hosanna turned two months! She has now visited 4 states.

Seventh Week

Hosanna really likes this swing, especially now that she can grab the dragonfly!

Hosanna is 8 weeks old. The little green outfit was worn by both Micah and Elisha, too.

She's starting to sleep in her cozy crib. Nana embellished the quilt and Ms. Sherry bought her the pretty drape; it's her own little corner of the room. She shares her room with both of her siblings.

Sixth Week

Thanksgiving Day was quite eventful at our house, as was our celebration with the Mooneys on the Friday after. Hosanna didn't seem to mind the hub-bub. She slept quite well.

Hosanna's little buddy Thomas comes to house church at our house. They are three weeks apart. Here they are hanging out on the floor, both pretty happy. She's 7 weeks old!

Fifth Week

This week on Wednesday Hosanna smiled at Daddy. Wednesday night she slept from 11 - 6. Thursday evening she spent time with Oma while Mommy went to work. Also this week, our house mate Jason's family came for dinner, we all had lunch with Melissa and Charleston and Saturday we went to Norah's 1st birthday party. Sunday she turned 6 weeks old.

Hosanna likes Piglet, just not to cuddle while sleeping. Mommy tried hard, but Hosanna just didn't feel like smiling for the camera.

The bear blanket seems to be her favorite still...

Fourth Week

This week Hosanna smiled at me! (11/12). She also played on her playmat for the first time and visited the Mall of Georgia with the Vicks. At the mall, she had a complete diaper blow-out. And there wasn't an extra set of clothes in the diaper bag - oops! So Mommy bought Hosanna a new outfit at Old Navy, but not before nursing her in just her diaper and socks and getting lots of "you're a bad mom" looks. Between Charlotte and I, we had 6 kids aged 5 and under - we were a little tired after the trip to the mall!

Girls' Weekend

Hosanna and Mommy went to a lake house with the house church girls for the weekend and Hosanna showed off her smile to Aunt Gina and Ms. Nichole on Sunday, the day she turned 5 weeks old. Aunt Gina sure was persistant to capture this smile.

Third Week

Daddy left for a conference in LA on Thursday. Hosanna had a visit with a pediatric cardiologist that day, too. She has a heart murmur that should correct itself within her first year. It was fascinating to see her heart on an ultrasound. We spent Friday through Sunday at Nana and Pop's house and most of the weekend was filled with events surrounding Mema Alice's wedding. Hosanna wore her first dress, tights and shoes on Saturday to the wedding; unfortunately I have no pictures of her from that day.

Here she is sleeping with her teddy security blanket that Aunt Di got her. So far, Piglet is not her favorite...

Third Week

On Thursday, the 29th, (18 days old) Hosanna visited Dr. Pham again. She weighed 10 lbs. 7 oz and was 23 inches long. Other highlights of the week included shopping with Mommy and Nana at Discover Mills, time alone with Oma, spending time with McKenna, Jeremiah and Kyla and Halloween. We joined the D.Mooney kids, Nana and Pop for a festival at their church and then walked around Discover Mills a bit. Hosanna slept a lot in her little pumpkin shirt and succeeded at being super cute on her first Halloween at just a day less than 3 weeks old.

Second Week

On Tuesday Hosanna went to the park with Micah, Elisha, Amber, Saji, Jason and I. She enjoyed the sun in the front pack. It was a beautiful day.
Micah and Elisha finally got to hold Hosanna on Thursday (the 22nd). Their runny noses had finally cleared up!

Friday (12 days old) she weighed in at 9 lbs. 12 oz. at the doctor's. Saturday we met Aunt Di at Mimi's Cafe for breakfast. Tanti joined us. Then Aunt Di walked with us at Perimeter Mall. Hosanna took her first stroller ride. Later that evening she joined Mommy and Daddy on a date.

Saturday night the rest of her cord fell off . . . so . . . Sunday (10/25) she took her first bath in the tub. She also made her house church debut that night. What a busy week, little lady!

Six Days Old

The Mooneys had their monthly gathering today. We celebrated Uncle Ben's birthday. Hosanna got some cuddle time with Nana and also slept a lot...it seems like her way of dealing with crowds.

First Week Visitors

Our housemates, Amber, Jason and Saji were all home when we arrived from the hospital on Monday night. They took turns holding Hosanna.

Tanti and Uncle Eric came on Tuesday and took Micah and Elisha to the Mall of Georgia to play and have dinner. What a blessing!

Mema Alice, Stacy and Eric all stopped in for a visit that day, too.
The Vicks all came for dinner on Friday to bless us with a meal and great fellowship.

Five Days Old

Hosanna visited Dr. Pham, our pediatrician, today. She's 5 days old, 9 lbs 2.5 oz, and 22 1/4 inches long. The nurse was sweet; here she is measuring Hosanna, who didn't miss much of what she did. It looks like she's healthy and growing well.

Hosanna met Micah and Elisha today. They were so excited. They wore their big brother/big sister shirts from Nana so proudly!

Hospital Visitors

Oma was in the delivery room and Opa joined us right after Hosanna was born.

Nana was in the delivery room and Pop joined us right after Hosanna was born. Uncle Derek happened to be in town and stopped by for a short visit.

Charlotte and Uncle Ben came right after house church.

Stacy came later that evening and Nichole came the next morning.

Melissa and Aunt Shane came later on Monday after work, as did Tanti (Aunt Andrea). Iture guess we forgot to take her picture; sorry Tanti!

One Day Old

Our little Hosanna is adjusting to her new world. She's had lots of visitors and is nursing well.

Welcome to the Earth

Hosanna Grace Mooney arrived on October 11th, 2009 weighing in at 8 lbs. 15 0z and measuring 22 inches long. She announced her arrival by screaming and screaming. She didn't really settle down until after the second time that she nursed. She also made it very clear that she does not like it when she cannot get her hands into her mouth. Nana Mooney and Oma Schneider, along with her daddy, Britt, assisted during labor and delivery. Pop Mooney and Opa Schneider joined us in the delivery room just after Hosanna arrived.

Micah and Elisha didn't get to meet Hosanna until later that week, as they were not allowed to visit us in the hospital. They enjoyed meeting their little sister. Nana got them big brother/sister shirts, which they wore proudly.
